KinokoFry #052 – House of Bees

Now noone can ever say I won’t draw hundreds and hundreds of bees.

KinokoFry’s March ~ April 2009 Donation Drive!

* EDIT: Donation drive is over!

And while I’m at it, I donated $250 to the Victorian Bushfire Victims the other day so a BIG sticky thankyou to all the generous people that helped with that! You’ve done a wonderful thing!

No, actually. The world’s bees all went to their home planet, didn’t you hear? The Doctor said so.

It just happens that a buncha OTHER beers are stuck in that house.

And the comic is, of course, great as usual.

Re: Tweet about site help:

As far as the widget goes, it doesn’t seem to list any specific clause about which pages to appear on or not, so it makes sense that it is appearing on every page (at least, the updated ones). A simple solution would be manually inserting the code only into the comics template page and bypassing the automatic display of the widget in the plugin settings in the WordPress admin area, though that probably isn’t what you’re after.

As for the navigation, without seeing the individual template coding, the only assumption I can make is that the Extras page is in the “blogcat” category. I remember having issues like this with WordPress before, myself… and it just took alot of time and experimentation to work through. Good luck with it.. the site is looking nice :)

Oh… and anyone who can draw that many bees deserves an award.

Mark: I just got a magical fix from Andrew Fulton and that has solved the most major of my problems. As simple as placing the code within the conditional in the right way, which sadly I just wasn’t sure how to do.

I really appreciate you guys helping me with my ridiculous problems!

Still working on the Extras page problem. Blogcat? I’ll investigate this.

Wow this brings back memories. I remember a show I used to watch in Yotsuya about these “overweight” (The word used loosely) Japanese girls who went on this losing weight show where they would be given a task to do over the course of the show that would result in weight loss.

Their task was to push a giant pink rolly-cart filled with junk across Honshu.

Funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen, the “EHHHH!!??”s still ring through my head.

If you ever have a specific web-development question, feel free to shoot me an email, I’m a huge fan of your comic and a professional programmer. I also recommend you use the Tidy plugin for Firefox ( http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/ ), it’s a great way to spot bugs in your code and bring everything up to standard. For example, Tidy will inform you that none of your image tags are self-closing… according to the Transitional spec that you’re using, they should be rather than just .

Also, your little bees are made of win, so cute!

Huh, no psuedo-html allowed. I meant to say “according to the Transitional spec that you’re using, they should be [img /] rather than just [img]. ” but with angles instead of square brackets.
