Guest Strip – Chris Downes
BEFORE I go on, guys, I made !
And… the finale! You can understand why I left the final comic of these fun guest times to .
We were doomed to be awesome friends, and that we are. Even aside from his really really lovely personality, something about his insatiable passion for the comics medium, for not only pushing himself to produce huge amounts of work, to challenge his own understandings of the medium and play with the format, experiment with storytelling, improve every aspect of his page, his inking, his composition, his character design, etc, and his own cartooning, but the very sincere and lovely angles his stories usually begin from and take. Something about this guy, I’m telling you. Well, I don’t need to, you can see for yourselves above how thoroughly he works to produce something that is amazing in a hundred ways.
I truly respect this.
Chris not only does the normal kind of comic you’d expect, he also works now as a political cartoonist, giving his own unique life to what is all too often a tired format. You can, and should, check out but here are some real gems; his , , , and . The man is a talented force, and his guest comic for me made me not only CRAZY happy but also really motivated me and made me feel a bit proud, and excited about my work to come.
(By the way, Chris has drawn me in the costume I made for the TiNA festival ball! I am fucking tickled all over).
Thanks, Chris!
Now it’s back to MY comics!

brilliant, we wouldn’t want things getting weird
Wow, that was the end-all be-all, wasn’t it. Awesome job, Mr. Downes.

Daaaaaang that was great.
Man, you’ve had such great guest comics.
I like how he shatters a juice box :P
We wouldn’t want this getting weird, now would we?
Why have the last four guest strips all involved mushrooms?
Was the word “rape” really necessary here? I am a survivor of rape and the use of that word was momentarily disconcerting and quite triggering.
