Guest Strip – Andrew Fulton
More guest comics from more of my favourite Australian cartoonists! Let’s see, today it’s… why, my buddy, Andrew Fulton!
To do Andrew justice with this post, the text would have to visually reflect a sense of time and movement across and down the page, as well as be beautiful, restrained and wonderous. I had no trouble finding a self portrait of Andrew because, like me, he appears in many of his own comics though they’re often not strictly diary comics (also like mine). Just flights of fancy, cute moments, terrible moments, what ifs, all those fantastic little tales that make you excited about what comics can be.
Mr. Fulton’s comics stand out on the web as well as in person. You’ll be looking over a lot of artist’s shoulders but Andrew’s work will always make you pause and gasp a little with envy. He’s got such a wonderfully elegant and organic control over ink. I -highly- recommend you own an original or two of his.
I admire very much this man’s mind and his interpretation and expression of the world. All his comics are brilliant, beautiful and damn cute. Check out Mumblier!
(This comic reminds me of The Tenant!)
