Sometimes ‘more sustainable’ is the best you can do, when there isn’t a ‘completely sustainable’ choice available. More sustainable is better than not sustainable, though!
I love your sustainable clothing goal. I think I may try it, myself. One part that makes it easier is being in a Artic climate, which means that the best clothes are wool. Sheep aren’t the most efficicent source of clothing, but they are renewable :)
Regarding the bamboo fiber, I don’t know if this covers all bamboo cloth or just some of it, but you might be interested in the link. I can’t find any more information on it so I’m not sure :( http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/10/bamboosa.shtm

I am still really happy I made this decision myself. I got a few new things from op shops just yesterday for Spring/Summer. Incredibly cheap, so much character… I enjoy my clothing far, FAR more than I ever have. I’m sure you’ll find much the same thing.
