Guest Strip – James Turner

EDIT: If anyone is having trouble seeing the latest comics, please let me know! A couple of people are having trouble seeing past this post and I’m not sure what the problem is. I may have even fixed it already. Please let me know which browser you’re using.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww yes! It is James Turner’s time to shine!

If you were to say to me – as NOONE has EVER done – “Why, Rebecca! What was the very first webcomic you read and loved? Do tell us, or we shall faint dead upon the ground this instant!“, I would be lying if I said anything other than Beaver and Steve.

In fact, that is the answer to a number of questions, such as “What is one of your biggest influences, even though probably noone but yourself can see it?” and “What was the first comic you did a guest strip for, unrequested, because you just loved the comic that damn much?” and also, “What was the very first printed book of a webcomic you ever bought?“. James was my first… in so many ways.

I adore Beaver and Steve and I adore James Turner. It seems to me that he can turn just about any idea into gold, and gold that everyone will enjoy (I guess everyone does enjoy gold). His particular talent, I think, is creating really, really lovable characters.

Even though Beaver and Steve isn’t … really… among us anymore… for the time being at least… James has been working his adorable (I assume) arse off on a great number of other things, such as the temporarilly ill-fated but WONDERFUL Super Animal Adventure Squad (which deserves very much so to be published into a lovely book and put in my hands) and a bunch of other comics that you can read by following James’ LiveJournal. DO THIS, because as I said – gold.

I’m very, very honoured he did me the honour of creating this honourable comic for KinokoFry.

Thankyou, James Turner!

Oh, and please check out this commissioned painting I did.

This is by far the guest comic I have been most excited about! I love Beaver & Steve – they were my first webcomic, you know!

Harvey requested it be removed, and so it was. Probably, regular KinokFry comics will be returning sooner than expected!
